Listening, listening over and over again

   Several years lost trying to improve the target language, in this case English.Albit, I always was learning another languages but with not succes. Why? Because finally one discovers that the brain is damaged on account of long time of being on the wrong track. A lot of time assisting to traditional classes following the conductist method. Passing all the time in a classroom studying what is not possible to study, that is, how to speak a foreign language.

 

   Being able to speak a foreign language is not a matter of classroom process, such as language lessons. This  process has nothing to do with  that kind of training methods. But has all to do with socio-cultural phenomena. Speaking a human language is a matter of communication, that is making sense of the world that sorround us.

 

   Speaking a language is a social costume as a matter of fact we speak our mother language because we are familiarized with this one. Nobody taught us how to speak in our own language, because we are listening the mother language from the very begining of our lifes. Since when we were growing in the uterus of our mom. Incontrovertibly, we all started to acquire the language with an input.

 

   You have to be accustomed  to listening the target language all the time

Don't try to decode every piece of the word. Nobody understands the utterences focus his mind on every piece of the speech. Alike aur mother language we understand the message catching the quantums of meaning. I mean this one is not in the part but does in the whole utterance. We understand chunks of meaning.

The foreign languages learning process

I just wanna talk to you about one of the most favorite hobbies. This one is foreign languages learning on line. I have discovered that the apprenticeship of a target language is not an easy task but not impossible, specially if you have to eliminate from your mind a lot of misconceptions and hang-ups, learned over the years of  the educational system.

        As you surely are gonna notice, this is not my mother language which is Spanish. At this time, I am very convinced that no matters what your goal be, you must find up the right way.  As the most part of the people in my country, one begins to study English since the school to the university as a mandatory assignment. Unfortunately we all have been on the wrong track, I mean those methods don’t work on account of those ones are not natural. Beginning by learn grammar rules and complex structures block the mind of the learners. So, which’s the right way to achieve our learning goals ?

        I have been surfing on line looking for the best method to learn. Finally I have found up the tips, advices and hypothesis of two interesting men: Steve Kaufman and Stephen Krashen. The first one a polyglote with a long experience learning a lot of languages and the second one a linguist with a brilliant university teacher background.
